What a fantastic evening for Crescendo for a Cause! Students, staff, families, community members and sponsors gathered to celebrate the HCS Orchestra Program last Friday evening.

Congratulations to Lakewood Elementary School, Vine Grove Elementary School, North Middle School and College View Campus for earning Month One Attendance Championships! HCS Chief Academic Officer Greg Sutton presents awards to schools (broken down by "regions") each month for having the highest student attendance in their respective regions.

Since we posted the wonderful news about Ms. Lee (East Hardin Middle School) earning the Fourth District Kentucky Music Educators Association Middle School Music Teacher of the Year award, we have learned that Aaron Dale, music teacher at G C Burkhead Elementary School, was named the Fourth District KMEA Elementary School Music Teacher of the Year. Mr. Dale is on the far left in the picture.

Congratulations to East Hardin Middle School Band Director Vanessa Lee! She was selected by her peers as the Fourth District Music Educators 2026-2027 Middle School Music Teacher of the Year!

She is now a candidate for the Kentucky Middle School Music Teacher of the Year. Congratulations, Ms. Lee!!

We ask that all of our families please complete the ONLINE INFORMATION UPDATE!!

The Online Information Update allows parents to ensure that contact information is correct and that the schools have all of the information needed for students.

Parents will not have access to grades, attendance or other Parent Portal info until they have completed the Online Information Update. More than 60% of our families have completed it (THAT'S GREAT!). As we head toward September, we would really like to see that number get closer to 100%.

There is an additional way for parents to send schools a message regarding student absences.
