STUDENTS - WEAR YOUR FAVORITE APPROPRIATE HAT TO SCHOOL TO SUPPORT FELLOW STUDENTS ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2025!
The HCS Family Stability Program is hosting "Hats Off to Helping," a district-wide fundraiser dedicated to supporting students and families in need on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 (the last day of school before Thanksgiving break)! EVERYONE is invited to wear their favorite appropriate hat in exchange for a $1 donation.
Note: Participants do not have to wear a hat if they would still like to donate. Anyone can contribute, whether they choose to participate in Hat Day or not.
All types of participation — donating, wearing a hat, or helping spread the word — directly support the important work the HCS Family Stability Program does for families. Each contribution truly makes a difference.

Hardin County Schools and Baptist Health Hardin are hosting a parent/community drug overdose simulation event. It will take place on November 5, 2025, at the HCS Performing Arts Center @ 6:30 pm.
This event is ideal for all adults, regardless of whether you or a loved one is currently facing substance misuse or not. It is a very well-presented educational demonstration on the dangers of drug abuse and overdose.
It’s proactive, sharing evidence-based prevention strategies and resources for families as well as recovery options, behavioral health connectors, etc., for adults and children. Parents and community members can learn together and gather resources to improve communication with their kids.
This event is ideal for all adults, regardless of whether you or a loved one is currently facing substance misuse or not. It is a very well-presented educational demonstration on the dangers of drug abuse and overdose.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library mails a free, age-appropriate book each month to children from birth to age five whose families register for the books. Families simply need to sign up for the service. Children who are registered receive a new book in the mail every month at no cost to the families.
Families with children who reside in Hardin County from birth up to age five are encouraged to participate.
Families can sign up for participation by going to this website: https://imaginationlibrary.com/check-availability/. Signing up is a quick and easy process.
Data from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library indicates that 38% of the children in Hardin County who are eligible to receive the free books are doing so. That is up from 17% over the last couple of months.
Community members can also donate to this initiative that sparks imaginations, encourages a love of reading and opens doors to lifelong learning. Anyone interested in investing in the future of children who reside in the Hardin County community can give the gift of literacy at the Central Kentucky Community Foundation’s website, www.ckcf4people.org.

The Hardin County Education Association is hosting a blood drive on Monday, November 3, 2025, in the auxiliary gym at North Hardin High School (801 S. Logsdon Parkway, Radcliff, KY) from 11 am until 4 pm.
Visitors can also donate supplies for the Hardin County Animal Shelter and the Warm Blessings Community Kitchen.
Needed donation items include: cat & dog food, cat litter, Vienna sausages (canned), new or gently used bath towels, canned or non-perishable food items, deodorant and toiletries.

Hardin County Schools school nurses can provide flu shots to students - only with parental permission. No one is obligated to take a flu shot. We just want our parents to know that it is available for our students.
If parents would like our health professionals to provide a flu shot while at school, please complete the parent permission form located at this link - https://bit.ly/hcsstudentfluconsent2526 - and send it to the school. The nurse will contact the student to arrange a time to administer the shot.

The Heartland Regional College Fair is TONIGHT (September 18, 2025) at the HCS Early College & Career Center (200 University Drive, Elizabethtown, KY)! Lots of colleges and universities will be there! Information about grants, scholarships and financial aid will also be available.
