Kentucky School Plant Manager Association

 

Two scholarships are offered.  One is for graduating seniors that are entering a field related to facilities. It could be used for a two-year technical program or for an engineering-related field.  The other is for district employees pursuing the same type of education. The scholarship is for $1,500 with a possibility of a one-year renewal for an additional $1,500.

Kimberly D. Merritt "Achieve Your Dreams" Scholarship

 

The Kentucky Association for College Admission Counseling "Achieve Your Dreams" Scholarship was named after a dear friend, colleague who had a positive and lasting impact on our profession - Kimberly D. Merritt.

One $1,000 award will be given to each of the four regions in Kentucky (Northern, Central, Eastern, Western). The students receiving the award will be invited to attend the KYACAC Conference in Owensboro, KY during the Scholarships, Awards and Closing Lunch on Friday, March 15th.

Hardin County Conservation District Scholarship

The Hardin County Conservation District is currently taking applications for 3 different Scholarships:

1. A Scholarship that will be awarded to any High School Senior that is enrolled to attend College and intends to major in the Fields of Agriculture or Conservation of Natural Resources.

2. A Scholarship that will be awarded to any student enrolled in College who has a declared major in the Fields of Agriculture and or Conservation of Natural Resources.

3. A Scholarship that will be awarded to any student that is at least 25 years old and pursuing an undergraduate degree in Agriculture or Related Natural Resources.

The Maj. Gen. James Ursano Scholarship Program for Dependent Children is based on applicants’ financial needs and was established to assist children of Soldiers in obtaining their first undergraduate degrees. Scholarship for Military Children


The Scholarship for Military Children Program has been created in recognition of the contributions of military families to the readiness of the fighting force and to celebrate the role of the commissary in the military family community. A scholarship will be awarded annually at each commissary operated by the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). The Fisher House Foundation continues to serve as the program administrator and will contract again this year with Scholarship Managers to evaluate the
program’s applications.

Benny Dunning Pay It Forward Scholarship The Benny Dunning Pay It Forward Scholarship is awarding $2,500 to two seniors from Kentucky public high schools—one in Jefferson County and another from any public high school in the bluegrass. The scholarship is designed to help students in need who plan to attend college in the fall. The award must be applied toward student’s tuition expenses for attending a Kentucky college/university, technical school, or other institution of higher learning. March 15, 2024
Hardin County NAACP Lottie O. Robinson Scholarship Applicant must be a member of the NAACP or have NAACP family member or is a minority student graduating from high school from Elizabethtown High Schools, Central Hardin, John Hardin, North Hardin, Hardin County High, Fort Knox, or Meade County Schools who will be attending a community/technical College, four year college or university. Kiwanis Club of Hardin County Scholarship This application is for high school seniors with intent to pursue further education via tech/trade school or college/university.  Applicants must have maintained at least a 2.5 GPA and a recommendation from a teacher/counselor/administrator is required. Betty Hamilton Scholarship Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Nu Beta Zeta Chapter is offering academic scholarships to qualifying female high school seniors.   The organization is awarding four scholarships in the total amount of $3250.00 (1 - $1500, 1 - $1000, 1- $500, 1 - $250) to qualifying students to assist with the cost of attending an institution of higher learning. GE-Ronald Reagan Foundation Scholarship - Applications are now open for the GE-Ronald Reagan Foundation Scholarship program, which awards scholarships worth $10,000 a year for up to four years to the recipients. Apply online at Reagan Scholarship 

University of Kentucky Athletic Training Program - for students with a 2.75 GPA or above who are interested in becoming student athletic trainers at UK. Applications are available guidance offices.

Flavorful Futures Scholarship (Sparkling Ice) is awarding five $5,000 scholarships to eligible high school seniors. Students must be a U.S. citizen, have a 2.5 GPA, and pursuing a vocation/trade, two-year or four-year program. Students can apply online by CLICKING HERE.

Honors GradU Scholarship is sponsoring five $10,000 awards for high school students who participate in a design-thinking community-building project.  You can find out more about the scholarship by CLICKING HERE.

Kentucky Federation of Republican Women Scholarship Program (KFRW) - Will grant one scholarship annually in the amount of $1,000 to a college-bound high school senior girl who has been politically active within the Republican Party. The student must be or will be a registered Republican and plans to enroll at an accredited college or university in Kentucky. Applications are available in school guidance offices..

The Kentucky Horseshoeing School in Richmond, KY, has opportunities available for students interested in the equine industry. Their 24 and 36-week programs are nationally accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), and they have financial aid available. Students should see their guidance counselors for more details if they are interested.

The Post GI Bill provides soldiers and/or their dependents the financial assistance for all of your college needs, including tuition, housing, and books. We recommend all parents CLICK HERE for more information.

KHEAA Affording Higher Education - A book of financial aid programs/scholarships for Kentucky students pursuing a higher education.  Students may sign out these books from the Guidance Office or CLICK HERE.

Recovery Village Health Care Scholarship: Offering a $1,000 award to students pursuing a health-related degree program who have been personally affected by addiction. CLICK HERE for more information.

The Civil Engineering Scholarship Program Scholarship is for students interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at Western KY University, University of Louisville, or the University of Kentucky.  The deadline to apply is Feb. 1.  Students can also take classes at other Kentucky state colleges/universities, with approved programs, before transferring to WKU, UofL, or UK.  Candidates must have an ACT composite score of 24 and maintain a GPA of 2.5 while in college.  College Freshmen and Sophomores currently receive $6,200 a semester to apply towards tuition, books, etc.  Juniors and Seniors receive $6,600 a semester.  Students are expected to work for the Cabinet upon graduation for each year they received a stipend.  This scholarship can be worth over $51,000!  CLICK HERE for more information.

The Civil Engineering Technology Program is for students interested in pursuing an associate’s degree in civil engineering technology at Big Sandy Community & Technical College in Prestonsburg and Blue Grass Community & Technical College in Lexington.  The deadline to apply is Feb. 1.  There is an opportunity at other community colleges as well (inquired for further information).  Candidates must meet the entrance qualifications for the college and maintain a GPA of 2.5.  Students receive $3,000 a semester and are expected to work for the Cabinet upon graduation for each year they received a stipend. The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF)  and McDonald’s are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Sixty-Three (63) scholars will be selected to receive a scholarship up to $15,000 for the 2024-2025 academic school year ($7,000 per semester), which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees.

The Elizabethtown Women’s Club is offering two scholarships worth $1000 to a female student who lives in Elizabethtown and plans to attend Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. The Academy of CPR and First Aid Scholarship - The American Academy of CPR and First Aid is proud to sponsor the “Save a Life” Scholarship, offered exclusively to students majoring in the healthcare and education fields.  CLICK HERE for more information and to apply.

High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who plan to study music in college are eligible for a scholarship of up to $1,000. Students must submit a recording/video audition of a live, solo performance, in addition to academic information. 

Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program is accepting applications for a one-time $2500 scholarship to an eligible high school senior. Students must have a 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need. 

KY Association of School Business Officials (KASBO) Scholarship will award three $2500 scholarships to eligible seniors who are majoring in either business or education. Applications are available in school counselors' or transition coaches' offices.
