Hardin County Schools employees and Elizabethtown Community and Technical College full-time students will have a wonderful opportunity this summer to acquire dependable and safe child care.
Two facilities will house a child care center for children (ages six-weeks through five years old) of HCS employees and ECTC full-time students. One center is at College View Education Center (521 Charlemagne Blvd., Elizabethtown, KY) and the other will be located at North Park Elementary School (1080 S. Logsdon Parkway, Radcliff, KY). The College View Education Center is the former GC Burkhead Elementary School building.
The HCS Early Learning Academy will provide learning experiences for all children and will ensure that students are ready for kindergarten when that time comes.
The staff at the child care will be trained and go through background checks. ECTC students majoring in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education will also be at the center fulfilling required observation hours. It can also be an option for students in the ECTC work-study program. HCS students in the ExCEL program (teen parenting program) will also participate.
The HCS Early Learning Academy will be open even when school is not in session. The North Park location follows the HCS Certified Staff schedule.
The application is accepted solely on a first-come, first-serve basis. It does not guarantee a spot in the HCS Early Learning Academy. If your child's age group becomes full, you will be placed on a waiting list and contacted if/when space becomes available.
