2026 Summer Feeding Program

 

Hardin County Schools will provide its annual Summer Feeding Program in June and July, 2026.  Free meals will be available for any child 18-years-old and younger.  The child does not have to be an HCS student.  The only requirement is the age requirement.

The United States Department of Agriculture funds the program.  The USDA guidelines for summer feeding sites distinguish between rural and urban areas. Rural areas require non-congregate ("grab-and-go") meal service. Urban sites require congregate feeding, where meals must be eaten on-site.

Meals will be served Monday through Friday between June 3, 2026, and July 29, 2026.  No meals will be served on Friday, July 3, 2026 (observance of the Independence Day holiday).

Meals will be distributed in the following manner:

• Every Wednesday in June and July, participants will receive five (5) days of breakfast and lunch meals provided (non-congregate) at the following locations from Noon until 1 pm.  Participants must register to pick up meals in advance by using an electronic form.  CLICK HERE for the form.  Parents must pick up the meals at the following locations: 
  • West Hardin Middle School
  • Lincoln Trail Elementary School
  • The former West Point School building
  • Rineyville Elementary School

• Registration for bulk pickup (five breakfasts and five lunches) begins on the following dates for the listed pickup dates:

  • Registration starts May 15 for June 3 (Registration closes on May 28)

  • Registration starts May 29 for June 10 (Registration closes on June 4)

  • Registration starts June 5 for June 17 (Registration closes on June 11)

  • Registration starts on June 12 for June 24 (Registration closes on June 18)

  • Registration starts on June 19 for July 1 (Registration closes on June 25)

  • Registration starts on June 26 for July 8 (Registration closes on July 2)

  • Registration starts on July 3 for July 15 (Registration closes on July 9)

  • Registration starts on July 10 for July 22 (Registration closes on July 16)

  • Registration starts on July 17 for July 29 (Registration closes on July 23)

  • Last Pickup is July 29

*Note:  The meals cannot be eaten at these locations

• In addition, meals that can be eaten on site (congregate) will be available at the following locations:
  • Hardin County Farmer’s Market in Elizabethtown (every Wednesday in June and July) from 11 am until noon
  • Dawley Park in Radcliff on the following dates:
    • June 3, 4, 5  from 11 am until noon
    • M-F the week of June 15 from 11 am until noon
    • M-Thursday the week of June 29 (no lunches on July 3 – Independence Day Holiday) from 11 am until noon
    • M-F the week of July 13 from 11 am until noon
    • July 27, 28 and 29 from 11 am until noon
  • Optimist Park in Vine Grove on the following dates:
    • M-F the week of June 8 from 11 am until noon
    • M-F the week of June 22 from 11 am until noon
    • M-F the week of July 6 from 11 am until noon
    • M-F the week of July 20 from 11 am until noon

Adult lunch costs will be $4.00 and will be available for purchase at the Farmer’s Market, Dawley Park and Optimist Park sites only.
