The Hardin County School District makes a free appropriate public education available to each child with a disability regardless of severity, whose age is 3 to 21 years and lives in the geographical region of Hardin County.

Hardin County Schools is the fourth largest school district in Kentucky.  There were more than 2,400 students with disabilities reported on December 1, 2020.

The district serves students with disabilities in all 3 high schools, 5 middle schools, 13 elementary schools, an alternative school and 7 different facilities.

The following groups also meet regularly for professional development:  

  • School Facilitators
  • Special Education Support Team
  • Speech Therapists
  • Assistive Technology
  • LBD/MSD/VI/HI Certified Teachers and Paraprofessionals
  • Teachers/Interpreters for students with DHH 
  • New teachers to Hardin County Schools Special Education
  • PT/OT
