Child Nutrition
We participate in the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program. As part of this program, all Hardin County Schools will offer healthy meals every school day at NO COST to the students due to the implementation of the Community Eligibility Provision for school year 2024-2025. Students will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a household application.
Focused on the core value of Students Matter Most, the Department of School Nutrition Services (SNS) administers the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program at all district school sites; these nutrition programs help to ensure that all students have access to nutritious meals. Proper nutrition is necessary in order to support the growth and development of children, physically and academically. The Department of School Nutrition Services ensures that well-balanced meals are provided during the breakfast and lunch meal service times. All meals follow a strict meal pattern that is provided by the federal government.

Summer Meal Program- Just as learning does not end when the school year is complete, neither does a child's need for good nutrition. The Summer Meal Program provides free, nutritious meals to help children 18-and-under get the nutrition they need to learn, play and grow throughout the summer months.
