Debbie Wyatt has served as the interim HCS Director of Federal Programs and Leadership Development for the past year.  She has now been selected to permanently fill that role.

“I am very excited to have this opportunity to continue in this position,” Wyatt said.  “I’ve learned so much this past school year from the Central Office staff and appreciate the hard work and dedication of the schools.  My experiences have been wonderful and I’m looking forward to continuing to help our school district make the most of the resources available to them.  I am fortunate to be a member of our Instructional Services team that ensures our schools receive those resources that all students truly deserve.”

Wyatt will continue to be responsible for all the district’s federally funded programs, continuing professional development and learning initiatives and working with principals to provide effective leadership development and support for them and their schools.

“Debbie has done a fantastic job,” Hardin County Schools Chief Academic Officer Greg Sutton said.  “She always puts students first and is a team player.  She finds the perfect way to help students reach beyond anyone’s expectations.  She has and will continue to work hard to help our schools obtain federal funding that will nurture student growth.”

Wyatt is a 1988 East Hardin High School graduate.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1992 in Elementary Education.  She then obtained her Master’s and Rank I from Western Kentucky University.  She has earned endorsements in Gifted/Talented Education and Education Program Consulting.

She began her career as a primary teacher at Upton Elementary in 1992.  In 2001, she began work at the district level in the Instructional Services Department as a Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Specialist.  She continued in the same role at Lakewood Elementary and later transferred to Vine Grove Elementary as an Intervention Specialist/Title I Coordinator.  She served as a district Intervention Specialist before filling this position in an interim role.
